We are a chapter of the Texas Good Sams Club in Area 12.  The purpose of our organization is for members to enjoy Fun and Fellowship while RVing.  We meet on the second Friday of each month (some members arrive before Friday) and depart on Sunday.    The campgrounds where we camp are within 150 miles from downtown Houston.  Our members are from places such as La Porte, Baytown, Pasadena, Katy, Brenham, Bellville, Magnolia and Houston.  During our campouts we gather for games, food, more games, a business meeting, more games and more food.  Before our hugs of departure on Sunday morning, we gather for a short devotional and to thank the Lord.

Here's a little more precise information:  Social activities start on arrival.  Each campout will have a host (usually two).  On Friday the host is responsible for providing snacks.  This usually occurs about 5:00 to 5:30 P.M.  Games, socializing and snacking last until each is ready to call it quits.  Saturday morning the host makes coffee before the business meeting.  After the business meeting the socializing picks up where it left off the night before.  All the other months, except December, we have a "pot-luck" dinner at 5:30 P.M.  Each rig is required to bring a covered dish.  After dinner,  if we can stand it, we play games and socialize more.  Also if we have room, we hit the dessert table again.  Sunday morning we meet at 9:00 A.M. where a volunteer gives a short devotional.  We then depart with hopes on making the next campout.

GavelWe, the Rovin' Texans, meet once a month for a business meeting.  It just so happens, the meeting is held on Saturday morning at 9:30 A.M. during our regular scheduled camping weekend.  Click the gavel on the left to see our "By-Laws," "Standard Operating Procedure" and "Standing Rules."
GamesWe play many different games on our campouts.  Click the pix on the left to view the rules of some of the games we play.  Remember, it's OK to change the rules of play as long as all players agree before the gtame starts.
RecipesIf you've been to any "pot-luck" dinners, you'll more than likely taste something and you just had to have the recipe.  To help share some to these recipes they were published in our news letters.  These recipes, and a few more, are just a click away.  Click the cards on the left for some of our recipes and enjoy.
Songs of PraiseWhen someone gives a devotional, we always have time to sing a song or two of praise.  Click on the left to hear the songs.

The poem below written by a former Rovin' Texan sums up who we are.

We are the Rovin' Texans
We travel all around.
We travel in the country,
We travel in the town.

We make a lot of Good Friends.
We have a lot of fun.
We always thank the Lord above
When the day is done.
